But if you’d rather just get going, that’s okay too!

Wedding Day Details.

  • Formal
Suits for the boys, long dresses for the girls. Think chic, fun & fabulous.

  • There will be a bus provided to take guests to and from Jackalope on the wedding day, provided you are staying close enough to the venue. See above information under ‘Accommodation’, and reach out if you need any more help.

  • If you would like to give something small, there will be a wishing well on the day.

Planning Your Trip

  • The Peninsula is south east of both Melbourne airport & city, with Merricks North being an approximately 1.5 hour drive from Tullamarine.

The easiest way to get to and around the Peninsula is by hiring a car. The area is quite large and spread out, and some of the nicest parts are a fair drive along the coast. If you would rather not hire, you can get away with using the shuttle bus from the airport and Ubers (you’ll just have less freedom to explore).

  • The Peninsula offers a range of accommodation options from budget to luxury, including many beautiful Airbnbs accomodating small and large groups. For those wanting to treat themselves, bookings at Jackalope receive 5% off using our discount code here (children must be over 12).

When looking at accommodation, keep in mind that Jackalope is a decent drive from the more distant towns like Sorrento & Portsea, and the wedding bus will not be doing pick up/drop off from those places. We recommend sticking around the areas of Red Hill, Fingal, Safety Beach & Mount Martha. Some good options are Peppers Moonah Links and The Keith Motel.

If you need some guidance on accommodation, just send us a message.

  • Hopefully you get some time during the weekend to explore the area and make the trip your own (Sunday morning is a good opportunity!). Here are some activities that might tickle your fancy:

✓ Walk the Cape Schanck Lighthouse Track
✓ Visit (and swim at) the iconic Sorrento Baths
✓ Have lunch at the iconic Portsea Hotel
✓ Combine art and wine at Montalto or Pt Leo Estate
✓ Sample some local beers at St Andrew’s Brewery
✓ Have a Spritz at the Merivale-esque Hotel Sorrento
✓ Shop local wares at Dromana Habitat

Let us know if you can make it.
